July news update

I did an update in February, and have now realised that you may not be aware of developments since then. There are various ways to keep up to date with us, outlined below.

1. The first item of note is that we now have a new web shop - www.worldmissionbooks.com This will replace the current web shop at www.wec-int.org.uk/shop, which will die off like autumn leaves. World Mission Books reflects the fact that the new shop will be selling a wider range of books and items than simply WEC ones, much as the Bulstrode Bookroom does. Meanwhile, the new web shop is still in development; I am trying to keep it up to date, but please tell me when you find something missing, or which does not work.
  • The bad news is that the new shop does not support Google Checkout. However, it does support Paypal.
  • The good news is that we now have a terminal at The Spring, so customers can ring up with their orders and use plastic to buy.
2. We have a few new products to let you know about....
  • Operation World map - this comes in two forms:
a folded version which is approximately A4 size when folded into 8 - £7.50.
a laminated version which is supplied in a tube - £10.00
This map is packed with information - it is not simply a world map with the OW logo superimposed! See www.gmi.org/products/operation-world/operation-world-map/ for details.
  • Operation World CD-ROM and DVD-ROM
CD-ROM - basically a digital version of the book in PDF format, most suitable for viewing on a computer screen. £14.00
DVD-ROM - this is an enhanced edition, with the book in both PDF and EPUB formats, and 'more than 10,000 files of Operation World information'. £20.00
    More details from www.gmi.org/products/operation-world/operation-world-dvd/
  • We have just received a new edition of A Quiet Center by Susan Sutton published by CLC Publications, USA. The cover is a great improvement on the Kregel edition. £7.00
  • We currently have in stock the full range of books by Phyllis Kilbourn. These books on children in crisis are a specialist interest, but they are not generally easily available in the UK. Prices will be going up.
  • We have a small stock of Perspectives, the handbook for the Perspectives course. This is the recent 4th edition @ £25.00.
  • Window on the World - we bought up the remainder stock from the publishers, and can offer this at £5.00.
  • Malatya DVD - a fairly comprehensive account of the events in which three men were martyred in Turkey in 2007. It is probably worth viewing or showing in segments. £10.00. This DVD overlaps with the book Married to a Martyr (£9.00).
  • In the same way, we have Mountain Rain, the story of J O Fraser, a vital case study in prayer support for missionary work (£7.00), and a DVD of the story entitled Breakthrough (£5.00).
3. We are able to offer the GMI OW products (map, CD-ROM and DVD-ROM) at a better price than the original stock we received, because we are now their UK distributor. We are in the process of establishing a similar relationship with William Carey Library. That may not necessarily mean better prices, but WCL books should be easier to get hold of through us in future. CLC USA are willing to consolidate orders from US sources for us, which should make shipping more economical.

4. To keep up to date with all that is going on with us, you can follow us now on Facebook (World Mission Books) or the WEC Publications blog at http://wecbooks.blogspot.com, where this message will be pasted to let you refer to it in future.

Don't forget that we generally supply post and packing free!
